I have served as a school librarian and for the past nine years and have worked with students in preschool through twelfth grade. I have worked in both public and private schools, co-ed and single-sex settings, as well as a Hebrew-immersion school. As a librarian, I have worked with both students and teachers to explore all areas of the curriculum.
My greatest passion lies in helping reluctant learners blossom into inquisitive young people. I bring books to life with voices, characters and props. I turn math problems into tactile learning adventures. I transform the chore of organization into fun game.
I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, as well as Master’s degrees in Library & Information Science, and Digital Education Leadership (check out my professional portfolio at techybeckylibrarian.org). Along with my teaching and librarian certifications, I am a Google Certified Educator, a Common Sense Ambassador, and a BrainPOP Certified Educator.
I love to learn. I like to call myself a perpetual student and I find that that fire to learn is what helps me to connect to my students. I became an educator because I want to help students become life-long learners; I want them to discover just how exciting each day can be when you’re curious.
